Add a Paystack payment link to your website

A Paystack payment link turns any button on your site into a way to get paid. It takes a couple of minutes to create and needs no integration work at all.

Quick answer

In your Paystack dashboard, create a payment link with the amount and description, then copy the URL. On your website, add a button pointing at it. On Adviita, open the AI editor and say: 'Add a Pay now button linking to [your Paystack link]'. Customers pay by card or bank transfer without you building a checkout.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

Create the payment link in Paystack

In the Paystack dashboard, create a payment page or payment link. Give it a clear name and description, and set a fixed amount if the price is fixed, or leave it open if customers pay varying amounts such as deposits or invoices. A link can be created in a couple of minutes with no integration.

  2. 2

Decide fixed price or open amount

Fixed amounts suit products and set services. An open amount suits deposits, part payments, and invoice settlement. If you offer several services at different prices, create a link per service rather than one open link, so the customer cannot mistype and you can see what sold.

  3. 3

Add a button to your website

On Adviita, open the AI editor and say: 'Add a Pay now button in the services section linking to [paste your Paystack link]'. Set it to open in a new tab so the customer keeps your site. On other builders, add a button element and set its destination to the link URL.

  4. 4

Say what the payment is for, next to the button

A bare 'Pay now' converts badly. Put the service, the amount, and what happens after payment right beside the button. For deposits, say explicitly that it is a deposit and what the balance is, or you will spend the saved time on messages asking.

  5. 5

Test with a real small payment

Run a genuine low-value payment through the link on your phone, on mobile data. Confirm the money appears in your Paystack dashboard, that you get the notification, and that the customer receipt is legible. Then refund it. This catches a wrong amount before a customer does.

Tips & best practices

  • Add the same link to your WhatsApp Business profile and Instagram bio. One link works everywhere.
  • Create a separate link per service so your dashboard tells you what is actually selling.
  • For higher-value work, take a deposit through a link and invoice the balance. It reduces no-shows sharply.
  • Show that payment is by card or bank transfer next to the button, since many customers prefer transfer.

Common questions

Do I need a developer to use a Paystack link?

+

No. A payment link needs no integration at all. You create it in the dashboard and point a button at the URL. Paystack also has plugins for platforms like WooCommerce and Shopify if you later want a full checkout, but for taking payment from a simple website the link is enough.

Paystack or Flutterwave?

+

For a business selling mainly to customers in Nigeria or Ghana, Paystack is the usual default: it is straightforward to set up and well established for local transactions. Flutterwave suits businesses with pan-African or cross-border needs, such as selling to the diaspora or operating in several countries.

Can I take payment without a website at all?

+

Yes, a payment link works from WhatsApp or social media. The reason to put it on a website is that a link on its own asks the customer to trust a bare payment page. A page that explains who you are, what they are buying, and how to reach you converts considerably better.
