My Weebly site is gone. What happened?
If your Weebly site stopped loading, it almost certainly isn't a fault you can fix. Square unpublished every Weebly site in 67 countries on 27 September 2026 — but your content is still sitting in your account, for a limited time.

Check whether this is the shutdown or an ordinary outage
Two things tell you it is the shutdown: the date is on or after 27 September 2026, and your Weebly account is registered in one of the 67 affected countries. If both are true, stop troubleshooting — the site was unpublished on purpose. If your country isn't affected, the cause is something else: an expired domain, a lapsed subscription, or a DNS change. Log in and look for a closure notice on the dashboard, which is the final word either way.

Log in and download your data today, not in December
You can still sign in. Go to Account Settings, then My Data, then Download My Data, and take the full export of your pages, posts, images and products. The 26 December 2026 deletion is permanent and Square has said the data will not be recoverable afterwards. Do this first, because everything else on this list depends on still having your content.

Get your domain out before the account closes
If you registered your domain through Weebly or Square, the transfer needs a live account to authorise it — and that account disappears on 26 December 2026. It's the part people lose, and unlike everything else on this list a domain cannot be rebuilt from scratch. It carries your email, your printed marketing and years of search history.

Put something back online this week
Right now, anyone who types your address, clicks a link in your Google listing, or scans an old flyer gets a dead page. That is worse than a one-page holding site with your name, what you do, your phone number and your opening hours. A simple live page recovers the phone calls immediately while you decide where to rebuild properly.

Keep your old page addresses when you rebuild
Write down the URL of every page that had visitors before you build anything new — your export and your analytics both have them. When the new site is up, redirect each old address to its new equivalent. That is what carries your existing search rankings across.
Tips & best practices
- Your dashboard still works even though your site doesn't. Losing the public site does not mean losing the content behind it, until 26 December.
- Check which email address is on the Weebly account before you need it. Transfer approvals and password resets go there, and an address you can no longer read will strand the domain.
- If customers are calling to say your site is down, tell them plainly that your web host closed in your country. It reads as competence, not as a business in trouble.

Can I get my site republished on Weebly?

No. Publishing was disabled for affected accounts on 29 June 2026 and the sites were unpublished on 27 September. There is no setting, plan upgrade or support request that reverses it in the closing countries.
Is my content already deleted?

Not yet. Being unpublished and being deleted are separate events. Your pages, images and products stay in your account until 26 December 2026 — they just aren't being served to visitors. After that date Square deletes them.
Will my domain stop working too?

The domain itself keeps existing, but it points at a site that no longer serves anything. You can repoint it at a new site at any time, and you should move it off Weebly entirely before 26 December if that is where it is registered.
My site is still up. Am I safe?

It depends on your account's country, not your location. The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa and most of Western Europe are unaffected. Weebly keeps running there, though it has had no new features since 2024.
